Make a "pizza" out of different kinds of trash! This activity uses math and reasoning to discover where our trash goes and how much of it we create. It's recommended that younger girls have an adult present for this activity.

You'll need a paper plate, glue, red food coloring (optional), a small paint brush, and a few solid-waste examples from these categories:

Paper: Such as newspaper, shredded paper, boxes

Yard waste: Such as grass, sticks, leaves

Plastics: Such as to-go food service products (cups, straws, cutlery), bottle caps

Metals: Such as paper clips, staples, can tabs

Wood: Such as toothpicks, wood chips

Food: Such as eggshells, uncooked pasta, cereal

Glass: Such as marbles

Other: Such as rubber bands, candle wax, leather

This program is for 2020-21 registered Girl Scout girls.
