Older girls will gain confidence in their aquatic and leadership skills as they share their knowledge with younger Girl Scouts. An assessment of skill level and proficiency each weekend allows ALAs to progress into an assistant instructor role. Girls progress through this leadership experience at their own pace, with the guidance and support of aquatics instructors. Girls should expect to register for this event multiple times to enhance their leadership and small craft skills.
Prerequisite: PA Training and completion of at least five Aquatics strips. Three strips must be from water sessions, at least one of which must be a Level 2.
Participants will be assigned cabins/tents by session. Chaperones will be assigned to available cabins/tents once all girls have checked in. Troops who have participants in different sessions will most likely be in separate sleeping units.
*This event is for 2020-21 registered Girl Scouts and registered and approved adult volunteers. *For safety and supervision reasons, troops and individuals are not permitted to bring non-Girl Scouts or siblings.
*To maximize girl participation, chaperone openings are limited. Chaperones may place themselves on the wait list and we will do our best to accommodate adult participation requests once registration has closed
