OTEX, Outdoor Training Extravaganza, is an annual weekend with the mission of all participants receiving training in a multitude of specific outdoor skills. Participants will grow in knowledge, skill and self-confidence to enhance their girls outdoor experiences.
Consider yourself an indoor girl, but want to be an example of a Risk Taker for the girls you mentor? This package will provide you some of the basics of being at camp without completing the camp certification such as Leave No Trace, making a snack on a pie iron and caring for the Cast Iron, and helping the girl pack for their campout. You will also complete your American Red Cross Basic Water Rescue and First Aid / CPR/AED certifications. The two certifications will allow you to meet the Safety Activity Checkpoints requirements in several areas: fishing, swimming, adventures and theme parks, backpacking, etc.
** Fees include meals and session materials. Please eat dinner before arriving on Friday evening. Meals served include: Saturday breakfast, lunch, dinner & snack. Sunday: breakfast & sack lunch to go.
